University of Adelaide among world’s TOP 1% in rankings ! More uni of Adelaide research fields now in world’s TOP 100 !!
The University of Adelaide continues to be recognised as one of the world’s top universities, with today’s release of the 2022 QS World University Rankings.
The University of Adelaide has been ranked 108 in the world, placed firmly in the top 1% of universities globally, and again the highest ranked South Australian university.
Professor Anton Middelberg, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research), says: “Universities everywhere have experienced tough times since the global pandemic began. However, this latest ranking is pleasing news for the University of Adelaide, and continues to demonstrate the importance of a high-quality, globally ranked institution for our State.

QS World University Rankings: 108
Times Higher Education Worlds University Rankings: 118
Academic Ranking of World Universities: 152
US News Best Global Universities: 73
The prestigious Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) has included 43 of the University of Adelaide’s research fields in its latest world rankings by subject, including many in the top 50 and top 100:
Mining & Mineral Engineering – 7 in the world
Automation & Control – 25 in the world
Water Resources – 31 in the world
Civil Engineering – 35 in the world
Agricultural Sciences – 42 in the world
Dentistry & Oral Sciences – 44 in the world
Computer Science & Engineering – 48 in the world
Instruments Science & Technology – 51-75 range
Earth Sciences – 51-75 range
Nursing – 51-75 range
Mechanical Engineering – 76-100 range
Electrical & Electronic Engineering – 76-100 range
Energy Science & Engineering – 76-100 range
