New Flinders Academy Launches

Flinders is proud to announce the launch of Flinders University Academy, a University owned, but independently operated institution that will provide bespoke pathway course options for international students into Flinders University.

The Academy will teach a range of pathway courses designed and tailored by Flinders staff. These include ELICOS, Foundation Studies and Diploma programs in five areas – business, IT, engineering, health, creative industries – which will give students credit towards a degree in more than 50 Flinders bachelor degree courses.

Flinders students from day one

The Academy is located at the heart of the University, meaning students will be immersed in our university from their first day. While based at Flinders University’s Bedford Park campus, pathway teaching will occur across all campuses and teaching spaces. Enabling students to experience studying in the same location and facilities as their degree course while studying their pathway program.

Innovative programs

The Academy will offer a range of contemporary programs designed by Flinders specialist teachers. Students will develop skills and knowledge through innovative program delivery which offers tailored support and provides our international students with a seamless transition into their chosen degree at Flinders.

Individually tailored support

Academy students will receive highly tailored support through the implementation of a new ‘hyper care model’ that will provide them with the best possible level of support including additional services to ensure that they excel in their pathway studies, setting them up to flourish in their studies and beyond.

The establishment of Flinders University Academy means that the University is now able to offer quality education options for international students who have a not met our direct entry requirements. Importantly, this enables students to have an immersive study experience in a single location in a supportive environment as they move towards their career goals.

The Academy’s academic courses will be available to new students starting in February 2023 with additional intakes in June and October.
