The Flinders International Research Scholarship (FIPRS) is a scholarship specifically intended to support international students that covers international tuition fees and also provides a stipend.

Application Process To apply for an AGRTPS and FIPRS, you will need to first submit an application for admission to a Higher Degree by Research for both the AGRTPS and FIPRS. You will need to have an active Flinders Authentication Name (FAN) to complete this process.

Academic Background Required Applicants are required to have successfully completed at least the equivalent of an Australian First Class Hons degree(this is a four year degree with a major research project in the final year)
English Requirements The applicant has sat an international English proficiency test, and has: 1. an overall academic International English Language Testing System (IELTS) band score of at least 6.5 with a minimum score of 6.5 in the Writing components and 6.0 in all other components 2. a Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) Internet-based test (iBT) of at least 80, with a minimum score of 22 in Writing and 18 in all other components 3. a Pearson Test of English (PTE) score of at least 58 overall, with a minimum 58 in Writing, and 50 in all other components, or 4. a Cambridge English: Advanced CAE grade of at least C 2 CRICOS No. 00114A 5. the applicant has successfully completed an approved English language course from a registered English Language Intensive Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS) Provider or 6. the applicant has an equivalent to one of the above requirements, as determined by the delegated authority specified in the HDR Admission and Enrolment Procedures.
Other Requirements Selection of award holders will be undertaken by the Scholarships Committee based on academic merit and research potential. Applications will be ranked according to the University’s Guidelines for Ranking Postgraduate Research Scholarship Applications The University will give priority to students undertaking a higher degree by research forthe first time.
