Scholarship Description
Scholarships will be awarded to financially assist students who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic with the aim of reducing financial stress so that students can continue their studies at Flinders University. Scholarships will be funded by Flinders University as well as community donations. The funds have been pooled in an account named the “Matthew Flinders Scholarship Fund” within the University’s Karmel Endowment Fund.

Applications must be submitted online through the Flinders University Student System.
Applicants will need to login and navigate to the My Scholarships tab to apply. The application form for this scholarship is called " Matthew Flinders Scholarship". Please read the how to apply page and ensure all of your personal details are up-to-date in the Student System as you will be assessed using this information.
COVID-19 Impact Statement – This document should describe the financial impact that the COVID-19 pandemic has had on you. This can include changes to your own circumstances, for example, employment changes. It can also include changes to your sponsor or family supporting you, for example if your parents are supporting you and they have been unable to fully support you.
This document will be read and assessed by the Selection Committee.
COVID-19 Financial Documents – These documents should include any evidence that you have to confirm your current circumstances. Evidence of changes to employment (payslips), other scholarships or grants that you have received in 2020, other evidence of financial hardship can be uploaded here.
Bank Statements – You should upload copies of your bank statements from your financial institutions which show all transactions from 1 March 2020 to the current date. If you have multiple bank accounts you must upload statements for all accounts. |
